DAPCU conducts awareness campaign at Tetso College

In commemoration of 75 years of India’s Independence, District Aids Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) supported by National Aids Control Organisation (NACO), conducted an awareness campaign on New India @75 at Tetso College on Thursday.
In a press release, Tetso College, senior media executive, Rinsit Benjamin Sareo informed that the team from DAPCU disseminated information with regard to HIV & AIDS and TB prevention and services.
The team also stressed on developing an understanding about the infection, to reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV & AIDS and TB, and to encourage blood donation within the youth in the state.
During the programme, resource person DPO, DAPCU, Meceivinuo highlighted HIV & AIDS, its causes, prevention and emphasised on reducing stigma and discrimination.
District tuberculosis officer, Dr. Benchillo presented on TB, causes, its prevention and cure while district supervisor, DAPCU, Orenthung Ngullie talked on blood donation, his experience and the importance of voluntary blood donation.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by RRC nodal officer Tetso College, Kechegi Khing while vote of thanks was proposed by assistant professor, department of Commerce & Management, Payal Dutta.
Altogether, 50 RRC members attended the programme accompanied by two RRC nodal officers.
