DoHE prepared to post required number of teachers: ZGC

Following the Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) ultimatum served on the department of higher education (DoHE) over shortage of teachers at Zunheboto Government College (ZGC), the college authority Friday said that the department was prepared to post the required number of teachers to ZGC very soon.
In a press release, ZGC principal, Dr. K. Nishena Nekha, said that the college authority was in constant communication with the department authority, adding that the college has full confidence and was grateful to the department authority.
According to the principal, the ZRSU team had visited ZGC to take stock of actual requirements of the college some months back. At the meeting, ZGC principal said the student body enquired about teacher position in the college. The actual requirement of teachers vis-a-vis new system of CBCS and multiple sections in each semester was highlighted during the interaction between the college authority and student group, the principal said.
Further, ZGC said that the need for more teachers was discussed in the light of actual existing vacancies for different subjects.
Subsequently, the college authority and the college advisory board at a meeting on August 17, 2022 deliberated on the welfare of the college and resolved to approach the department authority to meet the needs of the college including posting of sufficient number of teachers.
Zunheboto Government College has, therefore, appealed to all responsible that no misgivings be given a chance to aggravate any misunderstanding, but continue to work together in the interest of the academic sanctity and peaceful atmosphere of the college.
