DPDB meetings held in Kohima and Tuensang

Monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Kohima and Tuensang districts were held Tuesday at DPDB’s Conference Hall, Kohima and Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang.
In Kohima, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of the new Kohima DPDB chairman, Keneizhakho Nakhro, MLA, who thanked the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for assigning him the task.
According to a DIPR report, Nakhro urged the members to contribute constructive criticism, suggestion, and guidance for the welfare of the society and the development of the district.
Advisor, Technical Education & Elections, and former DPDB chairman, Medo Yhokha conveyed a few concerns on the issues of unregulated cable lines, unregulated local taxis, and mushrooming of business-oriented tuition centres in the town, which could not be fully materialized amidst the pandemic.
He hoped that together the DPDB would come out with new innovative ideas and address such issues.
Chairperson of the meeting, DC and vice chairman DPDB, Gregory Thejawelie welcomed the new DPDB chairman and assured on behalf of the board members to give the fullest cooperation so as to bring further development for the welfare of the people.
The meeting discussed opening a new school – Asain Christian School at Chandmari, Kohima and recognition and up-gradation of 10 NAP IR at Zhadima. Executive Engineer, Power, Kohima, Er. Rukuongutuo Suohu gave a PowerPoint presentation on departmental activities.
Tuensang: Tuensang DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of Muthingnyuba Sangtam, MLA, and chairman of DPDB Tuensang.
According to a DIPR report, after reviewing the last meeting minutes, the house discussed the setting up of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) as presented by a representative from BAN, Chingmak Chang.
The House also recommended the construction of a new office building and official quarter of the District Employment Office, Tuensang.
The board also decided to collect freewill contributions during the next meeting for Sao Chang College, Tuensang for basic needs at the college.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant urged the PWD (NH) department to monitor the ongoing road construction of NH-202 and asked them to present the report at the next meeting.
