EBRC training held in Kiphire

DMA Samagra Shiksha Kiphire organised the Block Level Training for School Management Committee (SMC) and School Management & Developments Committee under EBRC Kiphire block was held at EBRC hall, here on Thursday.
Welcoming the gathering, district education officer (DEO) Kiphire, Deenabandhu Panda emphasised on community participation.
He said that without community participation, the school may only earn a failure. As children yearn for quality education, collective responsibility by teachers and community leaders such as SMC and SMDC should be involved, he stated.
Deenabandhu also requested the gathering to select SMC & SMDC members who were sincere as the failure and success depended on the said community.
He further appealed to the gathering to put their best effort to build quality education in their respective schools and villages.
Meanwhile, special officer for Inclusive Education (IE) Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, Vilvinu who delivered the keynote address said that the training was mainly to focus on new education system in Nagaland. She said that people saw a “lot of lacking in school development” and therefore, requested SMC and SMDC to use Communitisation Act judiciously for the improvement schools.
The special officer also said that school was for students and teachers and not for contractors. In this regard, she asked the community leaders to choose the right place for convenient of students and teachers in time of civil development.
Vilvinu also said that SMC/SMDC had the power to maintain school calendar, therefore the leaders and villagers should put their wisdom to function the school in their respective schools.
In the second session, the training was conducted by resource persons from Kohima where they imparted on school safety, participation of community, organising of mock during emergency, etc.
Similar training programme was also held at Pungro on Wednesday.
The programme was chaired by project assistant DMA Kiphire, L. Cholimong Sangtam.
