EDGBA holds annual session

East Dimapur GB Association (EDGBA) held its annual session on September 3 at Mandeville Garden Purana Bazar under the theme, “For a brighter tomorrow” with founder YouthNet, Hekani Jakhalu as the special guest.
In a press release, EDGBA informed that Hekani while encouraging the GBs said they had immense responsibility as guardians of customary laws with special provisions of article 371 ‘A’.
Hekani said GBs play a pivotal role in the progress of their respective villages in all aspects, hence it was the responsibility of each citizen under the respective GB’s jurisdiction to cooperate, support and contribute in various community developmental activities. To achieve a self-sustainable economy in the region and flourishing financial growth, Hekani stressed the importance on road connectivity especially between villages so as to create sustainable ecosystem for growth and relieve the hardships of the villagers.
Chairperson of the programme, EDGBA president, Niuto Awomi said the annual session of the association was the only common platform to collectively work towards growth of the area, for which cooperation and unity was needed from all villages to achieve the theme “for a brighter tomorrow”.
