Endangered pangolin rescued

An endangered Chinese pangolin which was recused by Chanwang Konyak, a resident of Satakha town was handed over to Tizu Valley Biodiversity Conservation and Livelihood Network (TVBCLN) and released at Sukhai Community Conservation Area (CCA) on Tuesday.
In a press release, TVBCLN informed that team leader of the Network, Ivan Zhimomi acknowledged Chanwang Konyak for finding a safe place for the endangered animal.
While stating that such good gestures towards endangered species should be followed by all the responsible people in the state, TVBCLN said endangered species such as the Blythe Tragopan, Hornbill, Hollock Gibbon, Chinese pangolin and Clouded Leopard should also be preserved.
It may be mentioned that the Chinese pangolin has been given the highest level of protection as it is included in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
