Entrepreneurship Development Centres launched in Nagaland

The first phase of Entrepreneurship Development Centres (EDC) started with with Peren and Tuensang as part of the recent CSR Investment and Business Conclave held on August 22 where finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the launch of Entrepreneurship Development Centres ( EDCs), especially in colleges across all districts of Nagaland.
To mark the launch,a function was held on September 14 at IDAN office Kohima Nagaland. Startup Nagaland and the department of industry and commerce will be the nodal agency to monitor the functions of the EDC.
Alemtemshi Jamir CEO IDAN in the presence of his team Renny Wilfred joint secretary IDAN, Kekhrievor Kevichusa commissioner& secretary industries& commerce and Keneirienuo Kire asst director industries& commerce presented a cheque to initiate the start Entrepreneurship Development Centre .
Educentre School of Business has been nominated as the implementation agency for EDCs in colleges. Founder Lezo Putsure was handed over a cheque as the first sanction for the initial phase of the programme.
Educentre School of Business has been working with students, entrepreneurs and start ups and pushing to create new age entrepreneurs across the State.
Lezo mentioned that the EDCs will helped students know more about entrepreneurship. how to start, build and scale. More importantly, shift mindset from looking at local problems to creating business solutions. EDCs will connect the college students to the start-up eco-system which includes mentorship, funding, exposure, networking and others.
