Evaluation reports on SBM released

Principal secretary and development commissioner Amardeep S Bhatia released the evaluation report on Swachh Bharat Mission, Wokha District and functioning of private hostels in Mokokchung town prepared by the Department of Evaluation at Nagaland Civil Secretariat here on Wednesday.
In his brief address, Bhatia lauded the department for its efforts in bringing out the reports and called for carrying out more evaluation studies throughout the State, adding that so far the department had released over 67 evaluation reports.
He assured to provide assistance and manpower if needed so that delivery of public services could be improved through these reports for a better future and encouraged the departments concerned to act on the recommendations provided in these reports.
Meanwhile, according to the report made available to the media, Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) scheme had created awareness regarding sanitation and linkage with public health, which had led to overall improvement in cleanliness and hygiene in towns and villages of Wokha.
The report mentioned construction of drains, building of toilets in households and making proper dumping sites available. It however pointed out that Yimpang village, though listed under beneficiary status, had not received any fund or material.
In Mokokchung town, 15 hostels were covered for evaluation. It was suggested that inspection of all hostels be carried out by district authority once a year. The report suggested that every hostel be registered under the appropriate authority.
