NPCC demands compensation for victims
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has demanded that the state government provide adequate compensation to the next of kin of the deceased and also to injured.
NPCC blamed the state government for negligence in monitoring and completing the 4-lane road and also the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the painful pace of progress. Further NPCC said there can be no excuse particularly when one side of the highway is often used for two-way traffic.
While questioning the unreasonable delay in completion of the project, NPCC further pointed out lack of signages alerting travellers of oncoming traffic, which was one of the main reasons for multiple mishaps.
