Flouting RMSA guidelines reason for Government High School Solumi controversy: Rising People’s Party

Rising People’s Party (RPP) said flouting Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) guidelines was the reason for the controversy regarding Government High School (GHS), Solumi.
In a press note, RPP said the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for construction of the GHS Solumi was prepared and official notification issued in 2013 and the school was completed only in November 2019 and quoted Kiphire district education officer (DEO).
According RPP, this was the clue that explained why a photo of the old school was furnished since, according to RMSA guidelines, construction of the school should have been completed within 12 months.
RPP asserted that the one-time rejoinders of the Kiphire DEO, Solumi SMDC and Solumi Village Council were enough since these authorities had presented the factual position, but for some inexplicable reasons the issue kept re-surfacing with subtle hints of political hand behind the press releases.
The release stated that if the Department of School Education (DoSE), DEO and SMDC thought that they could shoulder-fire RPP through some third parties, they were welcome. But the party reminded these authorities that their output had been horrible as the HSLC results of the past 10 years would attest.
As per NBSE website, RPP pointed out that HSLC result of GHS Solumi in 2013 and 2014 was 0% pass, nil HSLC students from 2015-2018, 20% pass in 2019, 0% pass in 2020, 13% pass (Covid protocol exam phase) and 0% pass in 2022.
Now that the infrastructure of GHS Solumi was on a par and “running smoothly” since 2019 as stated by the Kiphire DEO, the party asked him to explain the consistently poor result of GHS Solumi to date.
RPP also demanded that the DEO should also clarify as to whether the DPR for construction of the GHS was strictly followed with facilities such as headmaster’s room, staffroom, library, computer room, science laboratory, art/craft/culture room, proper water supply, Dyna roofing, steel roof trussing, furniture, firefighting equipment, green board, laboratory equipment, etc, and implemented.
For the benefit of the Naga public, the party urged the DEO, SMDC and DoSE to furnish their reply without delay.
