Gov, CM, DyCM greet on Mimkut


Nagaland governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy CM Y. Patton have extended Mimkut greetings to the Kuki community and the people of Nagaland.
Mukhi said that the festival expresses exhilaration and triumphant over the harvest of Mim (Maize) which is the last harvest crop of the season. During the celebration, he said Kuki community exhibit their magnificent traditions and customs, their ethnic culture are also expressed through art work that represent their roots.
This festival is also a time to remember the loss of our loved ones.
CM: “I extend warm Mimkut greetings to the Kuki community. May the bond of love and brotherhood grow stronger. I wish you all a happy and a safe Mimkut and a fruitful year ahead,” Rio said in a tweet.
DyCM: Y. Patton while greeting the Kukis said that besides Nagaland, Mimkut festival is celebrated in various parts of North Eastern states. He hoped that the festival is celebrated with oneness setting aside differences and boundary barriers.
