Govt focusing on agri & allied activities: Mhathung

Advisor for horticulture and border affairs, Mhathung Yanthun Wednesday said that the state government was giving special focus on agriculture and allied activities to improve the welfare of the farmers and make Nagaland a vibrant economy.
According to a DIPR report, the advisor while speaking at the inaugural programme of Sub-Divisional Horticulture Office (SDHO), Pfütsero, said with an aim to uplift the welfare of the farmers and elevate their economy, the department of horticulture has established 11 SDHOs across the state.
Stating that Pfütsero sub-division has “great potentials” in horticulture activities and with the establishment of SDHO Pfütsero, Mhathung said the department could serve the people better and would be better equipped to look into the welfare of the farmers of the area.
Short speeches were also delivered by additional director, horticulture department, Y. Bongti Konyak and convener, Pfütsero Town Welfare Committee, Mezelo Lomi.
The programme was chaired by EAC Pfutsero, Dr. Riku Khutso, the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Sr. Pastor PTBC, Rev. Dr. Neingupe Chiero, welcome address was delivered by DHO Phek, Senkalemba P while vote of thanks was delivered by SDHO Pfutsero officer in-charge HRF, Kelhouzakie Chielie.
