Health deptt conducts RCH camp at Phenwhenyu village

Office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima along with District Health Society (DHS), department of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW), NHM conducted Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp at Phenwhenyu village in the council hall on February 4.
A press release from the CMO office Kohima informed that during the inaugural function of Phenwhenyu SC, special guest, CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo urged upon the gathering to avail the services.
She encouraged them to partake in various group discussions for a healthy lifestyle and to practice better health seeking behaviour.
Dr. Vezokholu reminded them of the responsibilities of every individual in bringing about health awareness to uplift the health of the society.
She informed that in the target group, children and pregnant mothers were given priority.
In this regard, CMO expressed gratitude for the large turn-out of the target group and stressed on community level where VHC should take initiative for Village Health & Nutrition Day (VHND) and to channelise visit of medical officer to the village round the clock.
She informed the gathering that IMR & MMR was drastically reduced due to awareness and that health camps were platforms for people to avail services provided by the department.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Gwakenye Tep (VCS).
Later, gifts and nutritional packages were distributed to fully immunised children and pregnant mothers.
Screening of Ante Natal Care (ANC) to 14 pregnant mothers, 21 dental procedures, malaria slides with 40, AYUSH – 32, two immunisations, 16 NCD screening, 26 eye screening, 22 COVID vaccination and 11 COVID testing were conducted during the camp.
Lab tests were also provided with free medicines and distribution of IEC materials.
Altogether, 126 beneficiaries availed the health services.
The team was led by CMO, Kohima and all program officers, DPMU, SMO and team Tseminyu CHC and MO and team from Botsa PHC.
