Heavy rains to continue in NE

India Meteorological Department has predicted more heavy showers over the region for the next five days in the North East.
According to IMD, moist southerly and southwesterly winds blowing in from the Bay of Bengal are set to dump widespread precipitation over Northeast and the adjoining areas until June 29 and possibly beyond.
Isolated heavy showers are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura through this five-day forecast period.
In view of these heavy rainfall predictions, the IMD has issued a yellow watch over the entire North Eastern region for the next five days.
