H&FW deptt. conducts DAKSHATA training

Department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Wokha conducted DAKSHATA training from June 23 to 25 at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital conference hall, Wokha.
According to CMO Wokha office, resource person Dr. Azo Louis Kharutsuo (Obs & Gyae) in his address to the trainees said that the word “DAKSHATA” in Hindi stood for “efficiency” and that training aimed to make them more efficient as health care service providers during childbirth.
Sessions on goals and objectives, quality care in labour room, safe child birth checklist, bio-medical waste management, etc. were taken by the resource persons.
Resource person, Sorenpeni Lotha, community health officer, Pongitong Health and Wellness Centre, termed the training as a ‘refresher course’ and how it updated the knowledge of labour room practices and newborn care.
During the three-day training, pre and post test sessions, practical demonstration of normal delivery, new born care and new born resuscitation with the use of dummies and mannequins were also imparted to trainees.
Staff nurses and community health officers from health units across the district participated in the three-day training.
