Homegoing service of late Talitemjen held in Kohima

The homegoing service of former Nagaland chief secretary, late P. Talitemjen Ao, who passed away after a brief illness on July 28, was held at The Heritage, Officers’ Hill, Kohima, on Friday.
According to a DIPR report, the homegoing service was attended by a host of dignitaries, government officials, representatives from various public organisations and well-wishers who paid their final respects to late Talitemjen.
In their eulogies, the guests described him as a role model, who served the government with utmost integrity and dedication.
They said that his humble nature and his unfaltering faith in God were what set him apart from the rest. “A man of few words who chose to lead by example, his contributions to the state are unmatched and one notable achievement was how under his leadership as the first chief information commissioner of the state, the Nagaland Information Commission was set up”, the guests said.
After the homegoing service, the mortal remains of late Talitemjen was taken to his native village Akhoya, under Mokokchung district, where he was laid to rest.
Condolences: Minister for planning and coordination, land revenue & parliamentary affairs, Neiba Kronu has expressed sadness over the demise of former chief secretary, late P. Talitemjen. In a condolence message, Kronu said late Talitemjen was a humble and dedicated government servant who served the government in various capacities with utmost sincerity. Kronu said late Talitemjen’s spectacular work under the department would always be cherished and appreciated. Further, Kronu has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. Expressing deep grief over the demise of P. Talitemjen Ao, advisor for Roads & Bridges, H. Chuba Chang described the former chief secretary as one of the most distinguished person and a remarkable man who devoted his life to be the best towards the service of his people. “During our finite years as associates, he was truly a man of principles who was an upright, God fearing officer and well versed in his profession”, the advisor said.
Chang also described late Talitemjen as an extraordinary gentleman who understood the deep connections between people and whose quality of intellect overwhelmed everyone. He further, conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members and loved ones, and prayed that the Almighty would grant them solace.
