Isolated heavy rainfall likely

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has predicted that the state would experience isolated heavy rainfall in the coming days.
NSDMA joint chief executive officer, Johnny Ruangmei, stated that there could be heavy rainfall from May 28-31 all over the state. However, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds was very likely to occur in certain pockets in the districts of Kohima, Wokha, Kiphire, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon and Longleng during this period.
NSDMA has urged the public to be vigilant during the monsoon period. The public has also been requested not to shelter under large trees or picnic near river banks to prevent unnecessary risk to life from lightning and flash floods.
Further, NSDMA has requested all the DDMAs and line departments responsible for attending to emergencies caused by natural calamities, to be on alert and save lives and properties during this monsoon period.
