KCK alumni association office inaugurated

Commissioner, Nagaland, Rovilato Mor (IAS) inaugurated the new Alumni Association office of Kohima College, Kohima (KCK) on July 8.
In a press release issued by KCK media cell, it informed that Rovilato Mor in his speech expressed hope that the newly launched office would be utilised for the benefit of the college and its alumni, and help in fostering a good relationship among college stakeholders.
Rovilato, an alumnus himself, stated how the college had produced countless graduates- bureaucrats, politicians, business persons, and social workers to name a few, as Kohima College was the only college offering Arts stream in the capital for over fifteen years ever since its inception in 1967.
He commended the college for continuing to have a large enrolment despite many other colleges having come up in the recent years and testified to KCK’s deliverance of quality education. He then urged students to uphold the prestige and honour of the college by fulfilling their duties and roles, and encouraged them to take advantage of the improved infrastructure, facilities, and education imparted by the college.
He further exhorted the alumni members to continue working hand-in-hand with the college and extended his best wishes for the forthcoming NAAC assessment.
Principal, KCK, Dr. Ralimongla in her speech stated that the “much-needed” space to set up an Alumni Association office for its proper functioning which had been long pending has finally been realised. She elaborated in the all-important role of the Alumni Association in the growth and development of the college especially from NAAC perspective.
She further lauded the contributions of the association not only during the past two NAAC assessments but even in other important events, and that it was her hope that this office would facilitate a “well-connected alumni network” to take up the challenge of the upcoming third cycle of NAAC assessment.
Asst. General Secretary, Kohima College Students’ Council, Lotsielü Vese, in her speech extended the council’s gratitude to the Alumni Association for tirelessly working for the college and its students and urged all past pupils to join the association.
Earlier, dedicatory prayer was pronounced by assistant development commissioner (Retd.) Zhothose and assistant professor & convenor, alumni cell, KCK, Dr. Visiezolie Yashü delivered the vote of thanks.
