KLC celebrates 43rd parting social

Kohima Law College (KLC) celebrated its parting social and launching of the college’s annual magazine on June 30, in the college auditorium.
In a press release, Kohima Law College Students’ Union (KLCSU) informed that in his speech, KLCSU president, Lelimthong P. Yimchunger wished success to the outgoing students and also expressed happiness to assistant professor, Kezhokhoto Savi, as the day also marked the completion of 25 years of his teaching in the college.
He said that Savi was their role model and backbone of the college, who moulded students and was steadfast towards the progress of his students
Speeches were delivered by seniors and juniors to mark the 43rd parting social.
While launching releasing annual college magazine, senior teacher, assistant professor Tompok Pongener described his colleagues, Kezhokhoto Savi as a sincere and dedicated teacher who sacrificed for the betterment of the college and contributed to the reformation of society.
In his speech, Kezhokhoto Savi thanked God for His grace and said his compassion on “consumer welfare” led him to the college.
He narrated that in 1994, he joined the law practice at Tis Hazari courts, Delhi and Delhi High Court.
Savi said it was when he spent sometime in the Supreme Court that he realised a “great need of consumer rights awareness in Nagaland”.
He said that by the time he returned to Kohima, he began publishing articles in the local dailies, radio talks, television interviews for the protection and promotion of consumer rights in the state.
He informed that the college invited him to present a talk on “consumer rights” under Consumer Protection Act, 1986 which he said was a study course for LL.B students.
In a few days’ time, he narrated that he was given the opportunity to teach in the college in 1997.
He expressed happiness to see many of his students excel in the practice of law as independent law practitioners, magistrates, APP, civil judge.
The programme was led by comperes, Holuto Sheqi and Megosenuo Kuotsu, invocation by EU president Rose Mary, special numbers by EU, Yongo and friend and farewell song from the juniors, vote of thanks by Students’ Council general secretary, Nocklei M while EU advisor Sentitula Ao offered the benediction.
