Landowners to shut down JNV Lumami

Landowners of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Lumami village under Zunheboto district have asked the JNV authorities to vacate the premise along with office properties within seven days with effect from April 1, 2022.
In a press release, JNV Lumami landowner Z. Hekishe Zhimomi stated that the landowners had several meetings with the district administration and the officials of Navodaya Vidyala Samiti (NVS), who assured landowners of amicable settlement time and again.
The landowners, in their last communication dated February 12, 2022 to the DC and NVS regional office, Shillong submitted several proposals and asked to honour the assurances failing which they would have no option but to shut down all activities in JNV Lumami.
However, even after expiry of the deadline, the landowners said there had been no response from the NVS. Therefore, the landowners said they would resort to shutting down of all activities in JNV Lumami, adding they would not be held responsible for any untoward incident.
