LH backs Jamir, others on Naga political issue

Lotha Hoho(LH) said that it was fully convinced that various statements by veteran Naga politician Dr. S.C. Jamir, about the reality of the Naga settlement, in his interview with various media outlets, were “all facts and what Nagas have to realise and accept.”
LH chairman Er. Mhondamo Ovung and general secretary S. Aben Ngullie further mentioned that the same facts were also explained by other prominent leaders such as -deputy chief minister Y. Patton; H&TE minister Temjen Imna Along, NPF Legislature Party Leader Kuzholuzo(Azo) Nienu etc. LH said all of them had also conveyed, not their personal views; but the fact of the matter. Further , LH has put on record its support to the recent statements made by the Ao Senden, UngmaVillage, Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem, Watsu Mundang, Soyim Students’ Union, Sumi Hoho, AKM and others.
LH said that the Naga issue does not pertain to any particular tribe or group alone, but all Nagas, particularly of Nagaland. LH has therefore, urged upon all concerned to raise their voices for the truth.
“Yes, it is now made plain that integration, constitution and flag are all not feasible in the Phase-I Naga solution,” LH stated. It maintained that these issues were only to be pursued democratically, in the post phase-I settlement.
Lotha Hoho also pointed out that after 25 years of negotiation, most stakeholders were impatient and that the process of negotiations has formally completed on the October 31,2019.
Therefore, the hoho stated, “most competencies are finalised and only the loose ends are to be trimmed, for final presentation to the Nagas for acceptance, correction and deletion (if any).”
LH said Nagas have shed much blood for long and have endured many storms and were now willing to pursue democratically; whatever unresolved issues remain to be settled.
“We need to also understand that any settlement cannot satisfy everyone’s aspiration; but majority decision must prevail,” LH reiterated. LH also reminded that the Naga political movement had taken roots in the Lotha soil and that Lotha people have sacrificed many lives and have suffered much like any Naga adding that the Lotha Hoho has fully supported the Naga national movement and pursuit for settlement.
Therefore, LH affirmed that the Lotha people “will not allow anyone to mislead the Nagas and all competencies, said to have been finalised, should be presented to the Nagas for acceptance, correction or rejection.”
The terms “Honourable”, “Acceptable” and “Inclusive” need to be clearly defined any ambiguity to mislead the Nagas is not permissible, LH asserted.
