LSUN appeals for power supply to Tening area

Expressing concern over the “negligence” of responsible officers and staff of the Department of Power Nagaland (DoPN) on irregular supply of electricity under Tening sub-division,
Liangmai Students’ Union Nagaland (LSUN) said the officers and staff were being “insincere towards their obligated duty.”
In a press release, LSUN president Tingwangsi Newmai stated that the public of Tening area have been living in darkness for a week or more due irregular power supply. In this regard, LSUN has appealed to the responsible department to restore electricity “to prevent further exacerbation.”
Meanwhile, LSUN also expressed concern over the dilapidated road condition at Peren via Tening sub-division stretch, which it said was “fragile” and would be washed by the incessant monsoon.
It also expressed apprehension over unpredictable landslides and floods which it said was prone in the area.
In this regard, LSUN has called upon the responsible officers and staff of the two departments DoPN and & PWD, to be “readily available” in their respective postings as “government employees” with a motive “to contribute their sincere services to their people”.
