Manipur landslide: 1 more body recovered; death toll climbs to 56

With the recovery of one more body on Sunday from the spot of the landslide that happened at Noney district, Manipur, the death toll now rises to 56.
The body was identified as Thuisinliu Gondaimei (34), one of the five missing villagers, an official source said.
Gondaimei remained missing along with her husband Lungpuilan Gondaimei and three other villagers including a non-local after the devastating landslide hit their residential area.
79 people including Territorial Army personnel, railways employees, workers and villagers were buried by the devastating landslide at Marangching area of Noney district on the intervening night of June 29 and 30.
The search and rescue operation launched by a Joint Task Force comprising Army, Assam Rifles, NDRF, SDRF, CRPF, Army Medical Doctors, Manipur police, fire service personnel and local volunteers entered its 18th day on Sunday.
