MDLSA organises medical, legal aid camp for inmates

Mon District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) in collaboration with office of the chief medical officer (CMO) and district hospital (DH) Mon organised a medical-cum-legal aid camp at district prison, Mon.
In a press release, MDLSA informed that the camp was inaugurated by deputy commissioner (DC) Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma who also emphasised on importance of reformation of inmates and their duties as responsible persons in a society. He said MDLSA and other institutions were all working in consonance for the betterment of prisoners.
Meanwhile, DPO (UIP&RCH), Dr. Shasinle Tep and ISRN district coordinator Aphak sensitised prisoners on COVID-19 vaccination, while an awareness talk on tuberculosis was given by DTO (NTEP), Dr. Teninlo James. Mosquito nets were also distributed to district jail inmates by DSO/DVBO, Mon.
During the camp, the inmates availed COVID-19 vaccination and tests for malaria, tuberculosis, HIV & AIDS, hepatitis and other infectious diseases were carried out after sensitisation.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by secretary, MDLSA, B. Peter Resu who acknowledged the medical team for their service towards the welfare of prisoners.
