Meeting on Sekrenyi & mini hornbill festival held

In view of the upcoming Sekrenyi-cum mini-hornbill festival which would be celebrated at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama with state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio as special guest on February 25, a meeting was convened by deputy commissioner (DC) Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie with frontal units under Angami Public Organisation (APO) along with district administrative officers and related government departments on Tuesday.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was held in the conference hall of the DC and was attended by APO, Angami Women Organisation (AWO), Angami Gazette Officer Krotho (AGOK), Angami Student Union (ASU) and government officials.
Chairing the meeting, DC informed the members on earmarked amount received from the government for the festival which was later handed to APO.
He invited the members to share their suggestions on how best it could be celebrated in a befitting manner.
APO enlightened the members on the status of preparation and arrangements made at Kisama as per norms laid down by the government.
It also informed that the festival would be a two-day affair with cultural activities where day one would be held at Kisama and day two at Touphema Tourist Village on February 26.
Angami Gazette Officer Krotho and other members also shared their suggestions at the meeting.
