Metsubo inaugurates BDO office in Wokha

DIMAPUR: Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir on Monday, inaugurated the new block development officer (BDO) office building, Wokha, at Project Colony.
According to a DIPR report, while addressing the inaugural programme, Metsubo said the department of Rural Development was consistently working for the welfare of rural people over the years.
He urged upon the people and village functionaries to extend their cooperation and support to the government and the department to bring more developmental programmes for the benefit of rural population.
The minister encouraged everyone present, to respect the institution of Village Development Board (VDB) since all development works and programmes were implemented through it. He appealed to the village functionaries to focus more on economic activities such as agriculture and other allied activities as Wokha district was blessed with rich resources.
Meanwhile, ADC Wokha, Lankonsen Tsanglao acknowledged the department for providing the BDO office with a new building.
The ADC said this was a blessing for the people of Wokha and called for judicious use of the new building.
He also appealed to the village functionaries to work with utmost sincerity and dedication and proper implementation of schemes and policies to bring change and development at respective villages.
Rural Development director, Liboni Humtsoe said it was a special moment for the department as the long-felt need to have a new BDO office building was finally accomplished.
The director appealed to all the BDOs and staff to work with commitment and sincerity for better performance in all their assigned responsibilities.
The programme was chaired by project director, DRDA Wokha, K. Shekiho Phuleshe while vote of thanks was proposed by BDO Wokha, Albert Patton.
