Minister Pangnyu bereaved; CM, others condole

Sochet Sosoly, father of Health minister, Pangnyu Phom, passed away in Dimapur on July 15.
Expressing deep pain over the demise, chief minister, Neiphiu Rio said late Sochet Sosoly– born on July 25, 1922, was just 10 days short of his 100th birth anniversary. In a condolence message, Rio thanked God for giving late Sosoly a long and successful life, and for blessing him with illustrious children and grandchildren.
Rio said late Sosoly was among the first batch of Christian coverts from his native village Yachem and that he also became the first Pastor of Yachem Baptist Church. “His death is a great loss for the Phom community, however, the Phom community should praise God for giving them a good Christian leader at the crucial time when Christianity was beginning to make inroads among the Phom community”, Rio said.
He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and to the Phom community.
Dy CM: Expressing grief over the demise, deputy CM, Y. Patton said late Sochet Sosoly was involved in social activities throughout his life spanning several decades and has left behind a good legacy. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, Patton conveyed condolences to the bereaved family
ENLU: Eastern Nagaland Legislative Union (ENLU) expressed deep pain over the demise of late Sochet Sosoly, who was among the first Christian converts of his native village Yachem and the first pastor of Yachem Baptist Church.
ENLU secretary C.L John said late Sosoly lived a long life on earth and had illustrious off-springs, which was testament of how faithfully and committedly he served the Lord. The union also conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family.
