MVA sub-station inaugurated in Mkg

A 33/11 KV 2.5 MVA sub-station was inaugurated on July 8 at Marepkong ward, Mokokchung by deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh.
In a brief inaugural programme, the DC said that this was just the beginning and that more sub-stations would be installed in other wards as well. He thanked power department, Ungma Village Council (UVC), Marepkong ward authority, and all concerned departments that assisted in the successful installation of the sub-station.
Stating that there was no power generation in Nagaland,the DC urged to judiciously utilize and minimise energy and power consumption in every possible manner. He also said that we, as citizens also have responsibilities as climate change, lifestyle changes, urbanisation and modernisation has led to an increased demand of power which will only increase in future.
Short speeches were given by chairman, UVC, president, All Ward Union Mokokchung, and chairman, Marepkong Ward Council, where they thanked the department for timely completion of works.
Earlier, programme was chaired by SDO(E), Mokokchung, Er. Achanger while welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by SE, Mokokchung, Er. T. Lithrichum Sangtam and EE(E) Mokokchung, Er. Moameren.
