Myanmar national among 5 insurgents nabbed in Manipur

A Myanmar national was among five alleged cadres of different insurgent outfits nabbed by police and security forces in separate counter-insurgency operations with arms and ammunition in Manipur.
An official source said that a combined force of Assam Rifles and police commandos apprehended the Myanmar national during an operation in a locality at the border town Moreh on Sunday. Two 9mm pistols, 41 live rounds, four mobile phones and one wireless radio set were recovered from his possession, the police said. The police alleged that the foreign national, working as a cadre of an insurgent outfit based in Manipur, was nabbed from CananVeng of Moreh town.
A combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 16 Assam Rifles also apprehended three more cadres of PLA, in the follow up action to the recent arrest of 12 cadres of the armed rebel outfit earlier. The three cadres were nabbed from Wangoo Sabal Leikai in Bishnupur district, the police said. They were identified as Sanasam Govind (32) of Wangoo Sabal Leikai, SanasamManglemba Meitei (56) of Lamshang and NandeidamJillangamba alias Bungcha (26) of Pourabi.
Earlier, the police and security forces arrested 12 cadres of the PLA in separate operations on August 13 and 16. The nabbed cadres were handed over to Khongjom police station of Thoubal district where the cases related to the arrest of 12 PLA cadres were investigated after registering a case.
The same combined forces arrested a woman cadre of Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) from Khabeisoi area of Imphal East district on Sunday. The nabbed woman was identified as Leimio Sanga wife of Mayonpam Sanga of Siroy village of Ukhrul district.
