Nagaland: 3 sports associations formed in Tseminyu

Three sports associations have been launched in Tseminyu on July 14. The associations were: Tseminyu District Rifle Association (TDRA), Table Tennis Association Tseminyu District (TTATD) and Tseminyu Athletics Association (TAA).
The newly formed associations were dedicated by Rev. Haiwalo Apon, executive secretary, CRBC.
DGP Nagaland and president, Nagaland Shooting Sports Association (NSSA), T. John Longkumer graced the launching ceremony as special guest.
In his speech, Longkumer said modern sports provides many jobs opportunity for sportsperson even after retirement from professional sports, they can be employed as judges, referees, coaches, sports administrators etc.
He announced that Nagaland Police Sports Battalion will start recruiting cadets for the next academic session, and selection will be for those age between 8-18 years where free and quality education will be provided. On attaining 21 year, the cadets will be given the choice to opt for any profession.
He also challenged the gathering that in the ensuing Nagaland Olympics, Tseminyu district should aim for the Team Championship.

DC Tseminyu, Dr. Zasekoulie Chusi, who was the guest of honour spoke on the need for sports infrastructure in the district and highlighted the need/requirement of new police station and additional manpower for the police force in the district.
Earlier, the programme chaired by general secretary TAA, William Kez began with an invocation by pastor Tseminyu Town Baptist Church, Athonglo Khing.
NSSA secretary, Shalo Khing delivered the and introductory note and Yhunyele Magh presented a special song to entertain the gathering and the progranmme concluded with vote of thanks by secretary, TDRA, Jetilo Apon.
