‘Nagaland for Peace & Harmony’ free concert today

A free concert “Nagaland for Peace and Harmony” organized by Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) is all set to stage on Saturday at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur from 6:30 p.m. onwards which will showcase a total of eight artists from within and outside the State.
The headlining act featuring the fusion rock band from Kolkata, “MSonic”, arrived Dimapur on Friday at Happy Nest, Duncan Lane-5, and had a press conference with the medias. They were also felicitated by the organizing members with an Ao traditional scarf. The band comprises of Mainak Nandy (vocalist), Rana Ghosh (drummer), Prasun Bhattacharya (lead guitarist) and Pradyumna Laskar-bass guitarist.
The vocalist informed that as a band, it was their first time to be performing in Nagaland. Commenting on the hospitality, one of the members mentioned that they have been honoured and was hopeful that the concert will be a successful one and was looking forward for the performance. The band will be performing mostly Hindi songs and their originals. The show will also be an addition to the shows that they have performed across the country and therefore they have collaborated with DAYO’s concert, so that they will upload it on their social media, added the band member.
Mainak Nandy, mentioned that the band have released three albums in Hindi and Assamese and more than four- five singles. The band also mentioned that in a year, the band performed in 60 to 70 shows, touring. M–Sonic which basically means “Music- Sonic” is a mixed genre of Sufi or hard rock. The band also shared their experience wherein they were featured as finalists for India’s Got Talent in the year 2009. The band has already marked more than 700 shows.
Giving a shout out to DAYO, the band mentioned that it was a break-through for the band to perform for the people of Nagaland. The band also requested and invited all the communities to be part and enjoy the concert.
Various artists like Colored Keys, Samuel Konyak, Vinika Yepthomi, Projection Crew, DGP Band and the Mahila Band are some of the local artists for be performing at the concert.
Food and beverage stalls will also be set up at the venue by members of the 16 federating units under DAYO.
The event will also announce the award for painting and online poetry slam competition which was organized by DAYO in collaboration with Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Dimapur (Ao Students Union Dimapur).
