With an objective to foster unity and fraternity, All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) held its union assembly on August 3 and unanimously adopted three resolutions and endorsed Working Committee (WC) SKK and advisory board SKK to formulate programmes and policies for the restoration of executive council.
A press release by speaker U/A SKK, Ninoto H Chophi stated that the union assembly was convened following the union assembly speaker’s July 23, 2022 dissolution order and subsequent order to convene an assembly within 30 days.
SKK said 13 out of 17 federating units of the union attended the assembly and resolved to endorse the power executed by SKK speaker dissolving the executive council of SKK (2022-2-24) on July 23, 2022.
The house resolved to set up advisory board SKK and nominated its former presidents, Hetoi Chishi and Abeto Shohe as its convenor and co-convenor respectively along with 23 former SKK leaders as members.
To carry out programmes and policies of SKK, the house also resolved to form WC SKK with WSSU president, Kughato Achumi and KSSU president, Hoka Awomi as its convenor and secretary respectively along with all federating units of SKK as members.
Meanwhile, the union assembly speaker said that other than the resolution, no individual or other organisation should interfere and outstrip the constitution of SKK or illegitimately claim to be representing the office of SKK.
