Nagaland: ‘World Day Against Human Trafficking’ in Longleng

District administration, Sakhi-One Stop Centre (OSC) Longleng, in collaboration with Phomla Hoichem observed “World Day Against Human Trafficking in Persons” under the theme, “Use and Abuse of Technology” on July 30 at village development board (VDB) Hall, Longleng.
According to a DIPR report, theme speaker, Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) literature secretary, M. Chingong emphasised on advantages and disadvantages of technology.
She said excessive use of technology led to negative impact as technology users made it a priority over family, friends and work and that it adversely affected their relationship and other commitments.
Chingong then encouraged the gathering to use social media responsibly and productively.
Speaking on the topic, “prevention and protection of human trafficking”, LDLSA, advocate Mane Phom informed that district administration, concerned government departments and NGOs alone could not fight trafficking and encouraged everyone to come forward and report such cases. He also sensitised the people on Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act 1956.
