NBOCW holds awareness prog

Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers (NBOCW) welfare board conducted an awareness campaign on Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) on June 6 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire. According to a DIPR report, while speaking at the programme, deputy speaker NLA, T Yangseo Sangtam said that due to the pandemic, hundreds of youths from Kiphire who were working in different fields outside Nagaland returned home, which he said, created unemployment issues in the district.
He urged upon the beneficiaries to avail the schemes and policies provided by the government and appealed the participants to disseminate information to people at village level so that they could avail the opportunity for the upliftment of construction workers.
Stressing on benefits of getting enrolled in NBOCW Welfare Board, he informed that up to two children would be provided with scholarships in high school for enrolled workers. NBOCWWB chairman, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome informed that proper screening would be done to identify skilled workers to bar those participants who were not entitled to availing thebenefits.
