NE leaders sign nomination papers of Draupadi Murmu

Leaders from across the country including the North Eastern states on Thursday signed the nomination papers as proposers for the Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu in Delhi.
From the North Eastern states, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy CM Y. Patton, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma were among those who signed the nomination papers at the residence of Union Parliamentary Affairs minister Pralhad Joshi.
The BJP 14-member committee to oversee the election of the NDA’s candidate as President, also met at the residence Pralhad Joshi Thursday morning to tie-up loose ends related to the filing of the nomination papers on Friday. The presidential elections are slated to be held on July 18 and their counting will take place on July 21.
It may be mentioned that, chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy CM Y. Patton and BJP presidnet and minister Temjen Imna Along arrived Delhi on Thursday.
