Neiphiu Rio, UDA delegation meet Modi

A delegation led by Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence in Delhi. Rio was accompanied by UDA chairman, TR Zeliang; deputy chief minister, Y. Patton and Rajya Sabha MP, S Phangnon Konyak.
Sources privy to the meeting said that UDA delegation discussed a wide range of issues concerning the State including the Naga political issue.
Taking to twitter after meeting Modi, Rio said both he and Modi held a fruitful meeting. “I thank him for his constant support for Nagaland and its citizens,” Rio tweeted.
Earlier during the day, the delegation also called on union minister of state (I/C) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences; PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh
“Grateful to him for always being supportive and helpful in further strengthening the development of Nagaland,” Rio tweeted.
On Tuesday, the delegation had met with Union minister Amit Shah and other Central leaders.
It was learnt that the delegation briefed Amit Shah about their recent meetings with the NSCN (I-M) and the WC, NNPGs in Dimapur.
