NGTC condemns Aug 9 hit-and-run incident

Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC) has strongly condemned the hit and run incident, which occurred at 3rd mile, Chümoukedima on August 9, where late Leya Engtipi Sangma succumbed on the spot.
In a condemnation note, NGTC joint secretary Cliff Sangma appealed to the responsible authorities to give the culprit befitting punishment as per the law for his “inhumane behaviour”.
The culprit instead of having any remorse for his misdeeds fled from the scene without giving any help, according to the eye witness, NGTC stated.
Further, the council expressed its gratitude to Vika Yeptho of Eralibill village for his quick presence of mind and bravery in chasing and nabbing the culprit. It also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and payed that God would grant them strength to bear with the loss.
