Niki-led NSCN (K) meets Dimapur-based Southern Naga CSOs

Niki Sumi-led NSCN/GPRN (K) held a coordination meeting with a delegation of Dimapur-based Southern Naga civil society organisations (CSOs) comprising Southern Naga Union, Poumai Hoho, Tangkhul Naga Long, Mao Naga Union, Maram Naga Union, Lamkang Naga Union, Maring Naga Union, Moyon Naga Union, Thangal Naga Union and Anal Naga Union at the ato kilonser’s office Monday.
According to MIP, NSCN/GPRN president Niki Sumi, in his speech stressed on unity among Nagas to achieve any goal. It said, Niki also gave a clarion call to all Naga tribal leaders to be more committed and active in uniting all Naga political groups and the people at large, as no solution was likely to be achieved unless Nagas united for one common goal irrespective of boundary demarcation.
Niki said it was the Naga tribal leaders who could work and bring the Nagas together, which would further give more weightage to their voice for solution. Niki reaffirmed NSCN/GPRN’s stand on peace and unity among all sections of Naga society and reminded the tribal leadersthat the group stood for unity first and solution second.
On his part, ato kilonser Starson Lamkang appreciated the positive response from the Southern Naga CSOs. Starson said Nagas must do away with ego and work together in their own interest. He called upon the leaders to be ambassadors of peace and unity.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Southern Nagas said Nagas had fought together for their rights and therefore must resolve their differences and remain united to achieve their dreams and aspirations. The delegates denounced all sorts of violence that was against peace and wellbeing of the people and said lack of sincerity and commitment of the leaders and difference of ideas among them would confuse the people and prove a setback for the Nagas at large.
Appreciating the stand and commitment of the group, the leaders expressed the hope that Almighty God would surely answer the prayers of Nagas for peace and unity to prevail and for long lasting solution to the Naga political movement.
Chaired by GPRN secretary Inovi Naga, the meeting earlier commenced with an invocation prayer by Nihokhu Sumi, kilonser of PR and NGOs, while speaker of National Tatar Hoho Mhonbemo Tsanglao proposed the vote of thanks.
