NOA announces sports disciplines for NOPG

Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has announced the list of sports disciplines and medal events to be conducted in the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 (NOPG) to be conducted from August 22 to 27.
According to secretary general Nagaland Olympic Association, Abu Metha, some disciplines will begin at an earlier date and will be notified separately.
The list of disciplines has been determined as per the forthcoming North East Olympic Games and also taking into consideration available infrastructure and resources. Metha informed that separate notification related to the Paralympic discipline will be notified by the Paralympic Committee. He said Para sports discipline will be conducted in the form of demonstration sports and not inter-district.
The list of medal events for all the disciplines will be notified separately and the contingents will be as per the 16 districts. Registration of players and teams will be done electronically online and the last date for submission of players and officials’ registration will be August 13. Metha informed that once players get registered there will be no change of names. He also informed that preparatory expenditure will be sanctioned to respective Deputy Commissioners on the basis of number of athletes representing the districts for which separate notification on this matter will be issued. Accommodation, local transport, food and technical competition arrangements in the host city will be provided by the Games Organizing Committee and for which the dates for arrival and departure will be notified separately.
Meanwhile, T. Meren Paul (Senior Vice President) – 6009810695 and Neivikuolie Khatsu (Assistant Secretary General) – 9366966842 have been entrusted as coordinating officials from Nagaland Olympic Association. They can be contacted between 2 pm to 5 pm on working days (Monday- Friday).
Further, all districts have been requested to appoint a Chef de Mission, Deputy Chef de Mission and a District Team Manager and the names, contact numbers and e-mail addresses can be sent to the NOA on latest by August 5, 2022.
Men’s football from Aug17
NOA assistant secretary general, Neivikuolie Khatsu informed that men’s football will commence on August 17. In this regard, all football contingents have been asked to report to the Games Village on August 16.
