NPCB asks PIBOs, PWPs to register for centralised EPR

Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) has informed Producer, Importer and Brand Owners (PIBOs) and Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs) to apply for registration for centralised Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) portal which could be accessed through CPCB website at cpcb.nic.in (go to important links: registration of PIBOs and PWPs under PWM rules).
In a press release, Nagaland Pollution Control Board member secretary, K Hukato Chishi directed PIBOs and PWBs to comply with the provisions of Rule 9 (1-6) and Rule 13 (3) of the Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2018 respectively.

Nagaland Pollution Control Board informed that “brand owner” was a person or company who sold any commodity (plastic products) under a registered label; importer—person who imports or intends to import and holds importer-exporter code number, unless otherwise specifically exempted; and producer—persons engaged in manufacture or import of carry bags/multi layered packaging/plastic sheets, etc.
