One sentenced to 7 months jail for extortion

The chief judicial magistrate, Kiphire, Phuleto Yeptho has sentenced one Seliba to seven months imprisonment for extortion under section 384 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on June 15.
According to assistant public prosecutor, Sashilemba Kichu, the accused “committed extortion” on August 10, 202, in connection to a Kiphire police station case.
While delivering the judgment, the court held that the prosecution “proved all the facts constituting the ingredients mentioned in section 383 IPC beyond reasonable doubt”.
The case was conducted by Sashilemba Kichu while UBSI, Merenwati was the investigating officer.
