Patton addresses BJP Pughoboto meeting

Deputy chief minister, Y Patton said BJP was a secular party and that any political party or individual branding BJP as anti-Christian was “spreading rumours”.
According to deputy CM media cell, Patton was addressing BJP Pughoboto 13 A/C BJP mandal and party workers on August 26 at Town hall Pughoboto.
“There have not been any instances where our paths have been hindered in the name of religion after BJP became part of the government in Nagaland,” said Patton.
Patton, who is also the BJP legislature party leader, said a secular BJP works for the upliftment of the women, STs, SCs and Dalits. He said the BJP government at the central under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was keen to develop the North East and Nagaland.
Patton urged the people to take full advantage of this opportunity to develop every part of the state.
On the candidature of Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, Patton said that he was a “capable and influential leader” from the area and that, 13 Pughoboto AC was reserved for BJP in 2018 elections.
In a short speech, Dr. Sukhato thanked Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for ensuring central assistance and relief program to the corner most regions of the country including 13 Pughoboto AC. He also thanked the visiting team led by deputy chief minister.
Others who spoke on the occasion were, Minister Kashiho Sangtam, advisors Kazheto Kinimi, Khehovi and Haiying. Host of supporters, public leaders, party workers and villagers attended the meeting.
