Pfutsero Chakesang Clean Election Movement meet on clean election

Core Committee of the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CCEM), had its first sitting on February 16, at Pfutsero and discussed on various matters related to clean election movement keeping in view of general election scheduled next year.
A press release by CCEM stated that the meeting discussed on the need to ensure one person one name in the electoral roll, and also proposed to include area council chairman members in the Core Committee for better coordination and wider participation.
With a view to strengthen voice of the movement, the meeting proposed Clean Election Committee to be formed in all denominational churches in Phek, whereby in this regard, the release stated that Chakhesang Public Organisation would be appraised with a request to disseminate information for formation in all different denominational churches.
The committee further deliberated for the need to root out bogus vote from electoral roll and proposed that voters of deceased should be immediately deleted or removed. In this regard, the church would be requested to issue death certificate and submit same to CBCC office for further action and follow up.
The release noted that in order to create CCEM as people movement, bill board, banners and posters would soon be worked out.
The release however noted that Church was not an enforcing agency to control, penalize or fine any party or individual, however adding that the church was divine institution with duty to pray in choosing leaders, hence it resolved to organize chain of prayer for clean election.
Chairman, CCEM, Rev Vezopa Rhakho chaired the meeting and welcomed the members while Executive Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, Rev. Khrotso Mero, pronounced prayer for the meeting.
At the meeting it was decided to have consultative meeting with Chakhesang frontal organisations (CPO/CYF/CMA/CSU, GB Federation), on March 7. 10 am at CBCC Mission T. Chikri, Pfütsero.
