Police nab two with opium

Nagaland police narcotic cell (NC) personnel on Monday, arrested non-commissioned officer of the Indian army ordinance corp., Narengi cantonment, Guwahati—Havildar Rakesh Vishnoi (29) s/o Mangilal from Jhalamaliya, residing at Bhopalghat Jaipur, Rajasthan and Suresh Choudhary (23), s/o Bhura Ram from Potaliya Chopra Pali, residing at Rohit Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on charges of possessing suspected opium weighing around 21.142 kilograms.
According to police PRO, the personnel intercepted a Guwahati bound Maruti swift bearing registration number RJI9CF-9864, at NH-2, Kohima.
Acting on specific information received around 2 am, the team intercepted the vehicle and recovered 22 cello taped polythene packets containing the suspected opium, which was concealed inside a manually built-in chamber in the running board through the mud-guard of the vehicle.
PRO informed that the driver and the occupant were arrested and the suspected contraband was seized.
A case was registered with NC police station under NDPS Act, 1985 for further investigation.
