Police seize 1480 Kg of Ganja from goods carrier in Karimganj

Assam police on Saturday seized 1480 kilograms of Ganja from a goods carrier and arrested its driver, reports The Sentinel Assam.
As per the information provided by the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Twitter, police seized 1480 kg ganja, packed in 74 small packets, from a goods carrier coming from a neighbouring state at Churaibari WP, Karimganj. Accused driver has been apprehended in the operation. ‘’This evening @assampolice seized 1480 kg ganja, packed in 74 small packets, from a goods carrier coming from a neighbouring state at Churaibari WP, Karimganj. Last month too, the Assam police had seized 1183 kg of ganja from a truck in the Karimganj district along the Assam-Tripura border and arrested two persons including the driver.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, around 68 kgs of illegal ganja were seized and three persons were nabbed in the Morigaon district of Assam. The police able to apprehend the culprits after a search operation was carried out under the supervision of Utpal Das, officer-in-charge of the Mikirbheta Police Station. In this case, the arrested persons have been identified as Ashique Ali, Sahed Ali and Suruj Ali.
