‘Poshan Maah 2022’ launched in various districts across Nagaland

Month-long Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition (POSHAN) Maah 2022, which aims to address the challenge of malnutrition in a mission-mode, was launched across Nagaland.
This year, the objective of POSHAN Abhiyaan is to trigger “Poshan Maah” with key focus on “Mahila aur Swasthya” and “Bacha aur Shiksha”.
Longleng: Longleng district launched “Poshan Maah and ICDS Project 2022” under the theme, “converging towards a healthy walk through life” on September 3 at Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) office Complex, Longleng.
According to a DIPR report, while launching “Poshan Maah”, CDPO Longleng, Longlang Luckpan highlighted the policies and programmes of “Poshan Maah”, it’s activities and the role and responsibilities of the health workers in the grassroots level.
Later, he administered the “Poshan pledge” to the gathering health workers and officials.
Mon: Deputy commissioner (DC) Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma while launching the “Poshan Maah” on September 2 at DRDA Hall, highlighted the main objective of the campaign which was to spread awareness about proper nutrition for women and children.
According to a DIPR report, at the programme, DPO (ICDS) Mon, T. Yanlem gave an introduction on “Poshan Maah” and CDPO Wakching, Mhayani read out the “Poshan Pledge” while CMO Mon, Dr. Vezokholu gave a presentation on “awareness on menstrual hygiene for AG and women”.The programme was chaired by CDPO, Mon, H. Laitak and CDPO Phomching, Khonbeni delivered the vote of thanks.
Noklak: Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 was launched at Noklak on September 1, at CDPO office Noklak.
Senior supervisor, CDPO office Noklak, P. Hemping gave a brief introduction on Poshan 2.0 and highlighted the health and nutritional care for children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers.
He stated that, in order to accomplish the target, it was the duty and responsibility of all the line departments to work hand in hand, and to make this mission a people’s movement with the support of local administrative bodies, village councils, SHGs and the community.
Poshan Pledge was administered to Anganwadi workers.
Food staff under SNP were also distributed for ICDS beneficiaries on the occasion.
Peren: Social Welfare department, Jalukie ICDS project along with medical team from CMO office Peren jointly organised a block level importance of good nutrition-cum-medical camp at Lamhai Dungki village council hall, Peren on September 3. The camp was organised as part of the ongoing month-long celebration of Poshan Maah 2022.
CDPO Jalukie, Namhuheing stressed on the awareness of nutrition of all age groups especially children below 6 years, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers while Dr. Laseng also spoke on good nutrition and a healthy diet.
Pharmacist, Sunny also briefed the participants on National Nutrition Week 2022. The programme concluded with vote of thanks from Lamhai chairman Akwa.
Tseminyu: Poshan Maah 2022 was launched by ADC Tseminyu, Longasen Lotha on September 3, at BDO Tseminyu conference hall.
ADC lauded CDPO and staff for carrying out various activities and schemes under Social Welfare department.
He also urged upon the Angawadi workers to continue being sincere to their assigned responsibilities and to be forthcoming whenever the administration and other convergent departments ask them for assistance.
CDPO Tseminyu, Menokhrielie highlighted Poshan Abhiyaan theme 2022. The programme was chaired by senior supervisor Obed Magh and vote of thanks was proposed by supervisor Kenyuyhunlo.
Chozuba: Month-long “Poshan Maah” was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Imokokla on September 2 at Chozuba. At the programme, a brief introduction on “Poshan Maah” was presented followed by rally undertaken by women, stated a DIRP report.
