DIMAPUR: Office of the district programme officer (DPO), Dimapur and child development project officer (CDPO) office urban, Social Welfare department organised a closing programme of “Poshan Pakhwada” at CDPO office (Urban) on April 4.
The mission which was launched on March 21 to lay emphasis on identification and celebration of healthy child and integration of modern and traditional practices for healthy India was concluded in Dimapur district with a recipe contest.
In a press release, district coordinator, Limasenla Walling informed that the contest saw participation from Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) from various sectors of Dimapur urban.
Block-level ‘Poshan Panchayat’ held at Jalukie
ICDS Jalukie project under the department of Social Welfare, Peren organised a block level “Poshan Panchayat” in the conference hall of the Women Welfare, Jalukie town on April 2.
According to a DIPR report, ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang spoke on the role of panchayat and encouraged local leaders to disseminate awareness on health and nutrition at block level.
Meanwhile, BDO Tening Kiengau explained the importance of rainwater harvesting as a sustainable process that would help in preserving water.
While stating that scarcity of water had become a significant cause of concern, he encouraged local leaders to conserve water.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by LDA, DPO office Peren, Isapheing Hegwang while vote of thanks was proposed by DPO Peren, I. Tsungrosongla Ao.
