RD block Jakhama observes ‘Udyamita Vikas Pakhwada’


RD Block, Jakhama, observed Udyamita Vikas Pakhwada (UVP) on the theme, “Celebrating the relentless spirit of Rural Entrepreneurship” at CMCT, Jakhama on Friday.
Leading the programme, block program manager, NSRLM, BMMU, RD Block Jakhama, Vitsituo Mepfhüo said the celebration was in commemoration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
He said informed that Rs. 74 lakh was sanctioned to 28 entrepreneurs as loans for various non-farming projects under Community Enterprise Fund for enterprise promotion organised by NSRLM in collaboration with JWLCCS Jakhama.
Program manager (IB-CB), NSRLM, SMMU, Selabeituo Theünuo said many beneficiaries would be receiving Rs. 3 lakh as loans.
He said the programme was for women in rural areas who strive to make a living by engaging in business activities.

Selabeituo pointed out that the importance of UVP was discussed in all the 74 RD blocks in Nagaland and said if they performed well, they could qualify and continue receiving help from the department.
Under the programme, entrepreneurs were receiving loans without going through rigorous process they had to go through at banks.
During the event, six out of 28 beneficiaries were chosen to share their testimony and experience under the programme.
Earlier, invocation was offered by Japfüphi Women’s Livelihoods and Credit Cooperative Society (JWLCCS), Jakhama Block, president, Neilakuonuo Levi.
Loan sanction letters were handed out by chief operating officer (COO) Skills NSRLM, SMMU, Menuoneituo Chadi.
Later, vote of thanks was proposed by area coordinator (AC-Skills) NSRLM, BMMU, RD Block Jakhama while benediction was offered by JWLCCS, vice president, Zasibino.
