SAMETI organises training on summer crops

A two-day training on “production technology and pest management of summer vegetable crops” was organised for Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries by State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) on May 12-13 at SAMETI, Medziphema.
In a press release, SAMETI Medziphema informed that during the training, the trainees were taught on production technology of solanaceous vegetables crops, production technology of cucurbits, integrated pest management on important summer vegetables.
The resource persons, department of horticulture, SASRD, NU Medziphema campus, professor S.P. Kanaujia; department of horticulture, SASRD, NU Medziphema Campus, assistant professor, Dr. Sentirenla Jamir and department of entomology, SASRD, NU Medziphema campus, assistant professor, Dr. Waluniba.
The trainees were also taken for a field visit to department of horticulture and department of entomology SASRD, NU Medziphema campus.
The valedictory programme was chaired by deputy project director, State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute, Yezaho Swu while feedback on the training was given by all the participants from 11 districts; certificates were distributed to the trainees by director SAMETI and principal IETC, Dr. Watimongla Jamir and DPD SAMETI, Janet Chishi delivered the vote of thanks.
