Scholarship: ANCSU serves ultimatum on govt

Dismayed over the delay in the disbursement of scholarship 2022, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has served an ultimatum on the state government to disburse scholarship for the year 2022 within 10 days, failing which the union would “resort to any befitting democratic protest of the day.” In a representation addressed to the director higher education, ANCSU president Toito D Chishi and general secretary Tenyesinlo Bukh expressed discontent with the department for not heeding to the “genuine appeal”. ANCSU also expressed displeasure over the state government’s failure to address the needs of the student community.
The union said it understands the requisite procedure to issue drawal authority. However, ANCSU reiterated that it cannot remain mute observers when the students’ interests were “deliberately disregarded.”
